How to create a story-telling TikTok Short Video

How to create a short video that looks like this:

This is a story-telling format video on TikTok with the following features:

It is a few micro short vertical videos stitched together.

There are wording captions and the font size is huge and clear.

There’s also background music.

For such a video, you need to use Capcut.

Download Capcut App on your phone, it’s free!

1. Upload Videos on Capcut

First, take a view vertical short videos with your phone.

Then, upload them onto Capcut.

To do so, simply create “New Project” on Capcut and you will be directed to your phone videos to select which videos to upload.

Select them in sequence of which video you want in front first.

They will automatically be stitched together.

After that, you will be brought to the main screen where you view all your videos stitched together.

If you have certain parts of some videos you need to remove, simply tap on the “Edit” icon at bottom left hand corner.

Go to the parts you need to remove and split them from the rest using the split icon at bottom left hand corner.

Then, select the portion you want to remove (just tap on it to select) and tap on Delete at bottom menu.

By now, you should have all your videos stitched together in the right sequence.

2. Record your story-telling

Once you’re done editing your videos, get back to the main edit screen.

Tap on Audio at bottom menu.

Then Tap on Record.

When you tap and press to hold to record, the video will also start running so you can speak as the video runs.

Once you’re done, save your recording with the Tick icon.

3. Caption your Recording

At the main edit screen, tap on “Text” then “Auto Captions”.

Select “Voiceover” for Capcut to only capture your voice.

Select your language.

Current Capcut auto caption supports the following languages: English, Japanese, Korean, Portugese, Russian, Indonesian, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Turkish, Chinese, Dutch, Vietnamese, Thai, Malay, Romanian.

After you’re done, you can tap on “Batch edit” to edit the captions if required.

Then, tap on “Style” to edit your text styles and size.

To make the text bigger, simply go to “Style” (beside “Font”) and there is a Size selection at the bottom.

Play around with your styles. There are even animations for you to use. Once you’re done, save your caption.

4. Upload to TikTok

After you’re done with styling your captions, go ahead to upload to TikTok for the music inclusion.

Tap on the arrow icon on the top right hand corner of your Capcut app to Export it out.

After it’s done exporting, tap on “Share to TikTok”.

You will see your video in TikTok edit.

Go ahead to tap on “Add Sound” on the top center of your screen.

Select your background sound. Make sure the background sound you select is longer than the original video length so the music won’t get cut off.

Now, you need to adjust the volumes of both sounds so your voiceover can be heard on top of the background sound.

On the right side menu, tap on the arrow icon at the bottom.

You will see the Volume icon.

Tap on it and you can lower the volume of the “Added sound” and increase the volume of the “Original sound” as required.

Once you’re done, you can go ahead to upload your video on TikTok.
